Last Tuesday’s Trivia Night added a 1950s pop culture spin to the annual Court Warming tradition. A total of 44 participants, in 11 teams of four, gathered at the Student Union to answer questions about ’50s music and entertainment. Trivia Night to benefit School of Law’s Child and Family Services Clinic

The UMKC Family Law Society will host its second annual Trivia Night at 6 p.m. on Feb. 10 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church (11 E. 40th St.). The event costs $200 for a table of eight, with proceeds benefiting the UMKC Child and Family Services Clinic. A silent auction and raffle will raise additional money. UEC hosts Trivia Night

The Undergraduate English Council (UEC) is making a name for itself and keeping involved on campus by hosting events that appeal to students from different disciplines at UMKC. “Our general goal is to promote English studies on campus through a diverse range of programming and activities,” said Ben Moats, UEC faculty sponsor. It is not a new organization. “The UEC was started at UMKC by Dr. Jane Greer, and it has been here for 10 years now,” Moats said. Learning through differences

MSA sponsors Trivia Night On Feb. 2, the Office of Multicultural and Student Affairs (MSA) held its annual trivia event. Trivia Night was one of the weekly events planned by MSA in honor of Black History Month. Gift cards to the University Bookstore, AMC Theatres, Red Mango, Lucky Strike Lanes and Yogurtini were on the line as teams “Homeland” and “Numero Dos” tested their knowledge of African-American History against each other. This was only one event in a February filled with activities. The trivia questions varied in subject matter and difficulty. Participants were expected to be knowledgeable of famous African-American athletes and pop culture figures, as well as answer questions regarding famous civil rights activists and culture shaping events.
