UMKC goes for Guinness
Monday evening was the night the UMKC community unofficially broke a world record. UMKC students participate in the creation of a campus tradition

Student Government Association (SGA) noted major issues going on in the student body and is working on resolving them. This new initiative is aiming for a roll-over feature for the print quota. SGA President Klassie Alcine does not know what the senate will propose until the next meeting when they come up with a resolution. As for transportation, SGA is bringing back the referendum vote. UMKC aims for world record The chance to make history is here for students at the Student Government Association Robot Dance. The robot dance is set to happen Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. In celebration of the new library robot and the beginning of a new semester, SGA is trying to break the world record for the most people doing a dance for five consecutive minutes. “It’s not your everyday event, it’s setting a world record,” SGA President Klassie Alcine said. A New year for SGA
Patricia Barra News Editor Klassie Alcine, President of the Student Government Association (SGA), brings new direction for the 2010-11 School Year. There are new events, technology and initiatives. In addition, they have changed their constitution and bylaws and added an ethics code. This year they want to put more focus on commuter students. SGA will be streaming their meetings on their website so students have greater access to the meetings. They also will host “Commuter Connection” events throughout the year. SGA plans to host dances, the Robert F. Kennedy Symposium, ice cream socials and other events to be announced. Their biggest event coming up is the Robot Dance, which is cosponsored by University Libraries and is inspired by the newly installed robotic sorting system at the Miller Nichols Library.
