The women’s basketball team clinched the No.3 seed for the 2012 Summit League Championships this week after defeating IUPUI and IPFW to take its record to 19-10 (10-7 in Summit League play) for the season. The Lady Roos completed a narrow 58-56 victory over IUPUI on Feb. 20 in Indianapolis, Ind. before returning Saturday evening to the Swinney Rec. Center to outshoot IPFW 79-62. UMKC 79 – 62 IPFW In Saturday evening’s home contest, senior Dayon Hall-Jones led the Roos’ offensive attack with 25 points, moving her into 10th place in the UMKC career scoring records with 991 points. The Summit League Championships were hosted at Durwood Soccer Stadium on Nov. 12-14. The weekend event, which comprised of two semi-final matches followed by a quick turnaround for the final just two days later as the Summit Leagues top four teams battled for the championship. The UMKC women’s basketball team concluded its season with a first-round loss in the Summit League Championships in Sioux Falls, S.D. on Saturday. Indiana-Purdue Ft.
