Women’s tennis earns playoff spot
The women’s tennis team achieved a Summit League Tournament spot over spring break after winning two of four matches against Oakland, Oral Roberts, South Dakota State and IPFW in Fort Wayne, Ind.The Roos stand third in the league with a 6-2 record. Lady Roos cement No. 3 seed in league tournament
The women’s basketball team clinched the No.3 seed for the 2012 Summit League Championships this week after defeating IUPUI and IPFW to take its record to 19-10 (10-7 in Summit League play) for the season. The Lady Roos completed a narrow 58-56 victory over IUPUI on Feb. 20 in Indianapolis, Ind. before returning Saturday evening to the Swinney Rec. Center to outshoot IPFW 79-62. UMKC 79 – 62 IPFW In Saturday evening’s home contest, senior Dayon Hall-Jones led the Roos’ offensive attack with 25 points, moving her into 10th place in the UMKC career scoring records with 991 points. UMKC hosts men’s soccer conference championships
The Summit League Championships were hosted at Durwood Soccer Stadium on Nov. 12-14. The weekend event, which comprised of two semi-final matches followed by a quick turnaround for the final just two days later as the Summit Leagues top four teams battled for the championship. Volleyball Continues Winning-Run in Last Home Weekend of the Season
The volleyball team (11-15) (5-10 in Summit League play) continued its winning streak as it beat a 2nd-placed IPFW team on Friday night at Swinney Recreation Center. Men’s tennis accumulated nine straight wins after defeating IPFW and Centenary. UMKC men’s tennis is currently on a nine-game winning streak after defeating the IPFW Mastodons and the Centenary Gents. The UMKC women’s basketball team concluded its season with a first-round loss in the Summit League Championships in Sioux Falls, S.D. on Saturday. Indiana-Purdue Ft.
