Junior Nathan Hughes led UMKC at the ULM/Wallace Jones Invitational golf tournament where the Roos finished in second place. Hughes finished fourth at five-over-par with a pair of birdies in the final round. Golf is a tradition in Hughes’ life, but it wasn’t until the seventh grade when he discovered his talent for golf. “Golf has been part of our family.  We always played together as a family,” he said. “When I was in seventh grade I decided to start taking it seriously and work on it, and I’ve just continued since then.” Hughes found passion in golf because it was an activity that brought his family together. “Every Saturday morning we all played together,” he said. “I really enjoyed spending time with them playing golf.” Before switching to UMKC, Hughes attended the University of … Read entire article »
