Winner of the Panhellenic Scholar of the Month Award In October, sophmore Kaitlyn Schumacher was nominated for the Panhellenic Scholar of the Month Award by academic chair members of her sorority, Delta Zeta- Xi Phi Chapter. Tattoo of the Week: Family is forever
Freshman pre-nursing major Leslee Slinger has experienced much hardship in her 18 years. In just a few years, Slinger lost her father, mother and brother to cancer. Elderly man hits officer with cane According to authorities, an 84-year-old man allegedly hit a deputy in the stomach with his cane. Bay County Sherriff’s deputies were called to Calloway Clinic on Nov. 24 because the man was yelling and cursing at an office manager. According to the Associated Press, police reports state the office manager asked authorities to remove the man from the clinic. Once the man was outside, his irate behavior increased. UMKC women’s basketball looses to EMU
The Women’s Basketball game between the UMKC Roos and the Eastern Michigan University (EMU) Eagles carried intensity with EMU taking the win 64-58. The Roos started out quite strongly with senior Sam Sikkink sinking a trio of threes early in the first quarter. But the Eagles’ offense stormed back, creating a deficit that UMKC could not equalize.
