Lady Antebellum wraps tour at Midland
Country music trio Lady Antebellum wrapped up their first headlining tour Saturday, Nov. 20, to a sold out crowd of 2,800 at the Midland by AMC.
The trio, Charley Kelley, Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood, opened their 90-minute set with “I Run to You” and performed a dozen songs before closing with their number one hit, “Need You Now.”
Lady Antebellum first claimed almost instant success with chart-toppers almost three years ago.
Sunday night, the trio was in Hollywood to accept an American Music Award for best country band, duo or group. They were nominated for five awards.
There was plenty of audience participation including singing along, and panties and a cowboy hat thrown to Kelley. Haywood alternated instruments throughout the set lending few opportunities for panty catching.
Scott belted a childhood favorite “I Can’t Make You Love Me,” by Bonnie Raitt. Kelley chose “I’m On Fire,” by Bruce Springsteen, as his personal favorite with a mix-in of Police’s “Every Breath You Take.”
Can’t wait to see what the next album and tour looks like for the group.
