Men’s Basketball

The men played two games over the break starting Nov. 20, taking a 70-62 win over Southeast Missouri State. Senior Bakari Lewis led the Roos in scoring with 21 points, nine of which came from behind the arc.

Last Wednesday they went on to continue their undefeated start with an 82-64 win over Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Senior Jay Couisnard tallied a career-high 26 points on the night.

Women’s Basketball

The women had a busy break, playing four games, two at home and two on the road. The first two saw a loss and a win. The 68-75 loss came on Nov. 20 against the University of Texas-Arlington, while the 71-59 win came on Tuesday over Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

From there the team hit the road to Houston, where they picked up a 59-50 win over Houston Baptist university and a 56-69 loss to Lamar University. kbryce@unews.com
